The term "convergence," meaning the ability to run voice traffic over the data network, is heavily marketed because of the cost savings it represents. There are many challenges associated with the implementation of a converged network that make total convergence unrealistic. Recent technological advances have made some convergence a practical reality. Layer 3 Communications brings a unique set of skills to the traditional voice arena. Because of our expertise in data networking, we are able to deliver high end traditional voice solutions and allow clients to begin the convergence process.
Our focus, in the voice arena, is delivering a solution that enables the migration to voice over IP (VoIP) as business requirements dictate and technology permits. We implement solutions that are VoIP capable and typically a hybrid of VOIP and traditional voice.
Our services include:
- Design and Consulting: Our engineering team works in partnership with our customers in the analysis, planning, design, implementation, and operations of the voice infrastructure. We will specify the core PBX or Key System including appropriate applications and handsets. We will negotiate, with our customers, associated carrier contracts to avoid costs.
- Voice Audit: Audits provide expert assessment of current voice flow throughout your network including carrier circuitry, voicemail and fax applications. This information is useful in evaluating costs, solving a current problem or creating a new design and strategic plan. Audits may be performed as needed, or regularly scheduled to insure voice reliability.
- Project Management: We offer professionals who will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the design. Our primary goal is to ensure that the project is completed as designed, on time and within the allocated budget.
- Implementation: Includes the pre-configuration, staging, burn in, installation, integration, testing and verification of all voice elements and applications. We will program the core voice system in a controlled environment prior to physical installation. We will interface with the carrier(s) to provide the proper circuitry in a timely manner.
