Do you know your Security posture? Is your network vulnerable to attack? Do you have a “trusted” network?

Layer 3 Communications has spent years developing the tools and gaining the experience that enable us to efficiently determine your company's level of security against attack from the outside as well as from within.

Vulnerability Analysis

As we analyze your current posture against attack, we will evaluate several key areas in a very systematic approach. Each phase of our analysis renders extensive documentation that will identify a vulnerability and classify the vulnerability based on the need to remediate. We will deliver detailed recommendations on how to address each vulnerability and will assist you in addressing your issues if you elect that option.

  • Intrusion Detection
This critical phase allows us to monitor traffic coming in to the network to certify that the network is not currently compromised and under attack. This allows us to establish a threat baseline for your network. A clean "bill of health" during this phase of the analysis will allow us to proceed to the scanning phases where we begin to identify the vulnerabilities.

  • External Scan
During our External Scan we will simulate an attempt to penetrate your network from the Internet. We will identify potential weaknesses in your firewall and architecture that will assist you in deterring these attacks from the Internet.

  • Internal Scan
This is a very detailed scan of all servers and clients across the network. Oftentimes this phase will reveal the bulk of a customer's vulnerabilities but not necessarily the most critical.

  • Remote Access Audit
Here we will identify unknown access points into your network via modem access. This risk can be among the highest since these access points may be created by practically anyone on the network who has a modem.

  • Wireless Network Security
As the security industry struggles to develop a solid wireless security encryption method, these weaknesses must be circumvented by applying advanced architectural designs such as the use of VPNs. Layer 3 Communications engineers are experts at securing the wireless network.

Architecture Analysis
An architecture analysis would include a detailed look at the network's configuration to evaluate advanced techniques that may be applied to properly secure the network. The proper construction of your DMZ to halt the proliferation of viruses and worms, as well as advanced VPN techniques for securing transactions across your network, are examples of elements falling under this evaluation.

Policy Review and Recommendations
An entity's policy is very critical in keeping the network secure. From restrictions on activating portals to the installation of security-weak software, unless the policy matches the need of your network and is enforced, one can never comply with requirements identified by your company. We will work with you to develop a policy that matches your company's needs without creating an environment in which it is impossible to communicate.

Remediation Planning and Implementation
In the event that we identify serious vulnerabilities, we can assist you in the quick and systematic remediation of your vulnerabilities. We can apply our vast experience to help you solve your problems with limited effect on your critical live network and avoid the introduction of further security risks.
