physical infrastructure
Are you building or relocating to a new facility? Has your cable plant been tested to ensure compliance with industry standards? Can you easily troubleshoot and isolate problems associated with your physical infrastructure? Do you have enough cable and raceway capacity to handle your current and future data, voice and video requirements?
Layer 3 Communications engineering team maintains certified Physical Engineers versed in structured cabling AND network infrastructures. Our philosophy of separating the design component from the build component works well to minimize change orders and reduce conflicts in the field.
- Programming and Design: Layer 3 Communications will execute a programming phase and design a robust, fault-tolerant cable plant capable of carrying current and future network services for your data, voice and video needs.
- Construction Documentation: Layer 3 Communications engineers will develop a detailed documentation set including:
- Architectural Drawing(s) with cable plant overlays
- Specify components like raceways, conduits, fiber and copper
- MDF and IDF layouts
- Project Management: A project manager will be assigned to attend construction meetings, answer questions, manage change orders, interface with the cabling vendor, maintain the project timeline, report budget impact and ensure the general success of the project.
- Construction Administration: Layer 3 Communications will conduct on-site observations at various times through project completion. We will manage the cabling contractor to ensure work is being completed as designed and in a timely manner.
