Qualifications

In addition to vendor certifications, Layer 3 Communications regards field experience and "on the job" training as an integral part of our organizational philosophy. Our Account Managers are required to work with project management and implementation teams so they understand the methodology to take a project from inception to successful completion.

Engineering

Our engineering and professional services team has successfully completed a number of significant networking projects in the southeast, since 1998. As Layer 3 Communications we have designed and implemented over 60,000 switched network ports. Prior to Layer 3 Communications, our engineering team has been involved in magnitudes more.

Our engineers have a diversified knowledge base yet tend to specialize in different network disciplines like: security, network management, remote access, etc.

In addition, we maintain appropriate certifications with our manufacturer partners and keep current on technology advancements. Many hold post graduate degrees and maintain industry standard certifications.

The four managing partners bring over 65 years of relevant experience to the table.

Our team has vast accomplishments - check our references and milestones for starters. Beyond that, we have been responsible for:

• The design, implementation and support of a 1400 node router network for a major telecommunications company
• A number of large company technology migrations
• The design and project management of a large regional CLEC co-location facility and network in the southeast
• A number of corporate relocations
• The design and implementation of a network management system for a State's department of transportation's traffic monitoring system.
